A Growing Monastery

“We have enlarged and beautified our monastery considerably, as can be seen from the small sketch I am pleased to enclose. The monastery is seen here from the northwest, facing the nearby railroad. There are almost 200 of us who live in this building, which, with the exception of a public building in Lancaster, is now the largest to be seen from the railroad between Philadelphia and Pittsburgh (a distance of about 325 miles). How deep and ardent is my wish that much good may emanate from this monastery for us Germans, for the Catholic Church, and for the country in general!”
